This semester builds upon the foundations of nursing theory with a focus on health assessment and patient care fundamentals. Students begin to integrate theoretical knowledge with basic clinical exposure through RLE (Related Learning Experience) courses. Communication skills, microbiology, and the initial phase of medical-surgical nursing are also introduced to deepen clinical readiness.

This course explores the nature and process of human communication across cultures and contexts. It aims to develop students’ communicative competence, global awareness, and critical literacy in academic, professional, and digital settings. Students will engage in multimodal, ethical, and culturally sensitive communication to become active global citizens.

Introduces students to the comprehensive assessment of individual health status using physical examination and interview techniques. Students learn to collect and interpret data that guide clinical judgment and nursing care. Includes Related Learning Experience (RLE).

This course introduces students to the foundational concepts, theories, and practices essential for professional nursing. It explores the historical development of nursing, the ethical and legal frameworks guiding practice, critical thinking in the nursing process, effective communication skills, and the diverse roles and settings of nursing. Students will also gain an understanding of health, illness, and end-of-life care, as well as basic nursing procedures and documentation.

Introduces foundational concepts in caring for adult clients with medical and surgical conditions. The course emphasizes the nursing process, safety, and collaborative care in managing common illnesses across body systems. Includes laboratory work.
